Max Verstappen acknowledged that an incorrect tyre strategy and a lack of pace led to his third-place finish at the United States Grand Prix. The four-time world champion started second but used two stints on soft tyres, forcing a two-stop strategy that hindered his performance. He was unable to match the speed of winner Kimi Antonelli, who is now close to becoming F1's youngest champion. Verstappen secured a podium finish, partly due to a late Virtual Safety Car, but this result ended his slim hopes for a fifth world title.
