Guwahati police have arrested a senior insurance company officer, Biswanath Das, for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 29-year-old female employee. The woman was found dead in her rented apartment, hanging from a ceiling fan. A suicide note reportedly accused Das of mental and physical torture. Police detained Das on Tuesday and arrested him on Wednesday after questioning. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and the report is awaited. The woman's family suspects foul play, stating she would not take her own life.
