Explosions were heard overnight in Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa, as fighting between federal forces and opposition groups intensifies in the north. The blasts followed a ban on drone flights in the capital and surrounding areas. An alliance of seven armed groups, including the TPLF, claimed responsibility for drone strikes targeting military headquarters. The conflict, which has spread from the Amhara region into Tigray, risks drawing in neighbouring Eritrea and impacting regional food security.
