Prof. Yogesh Singh Becomes First DU VC To Get Consecutive Second Term

Professor Yogesh Singh has made history by becoming the first Vice-Chancellor in Delhi University's 77-year existence to be reappointed for a consecutive second term. This reappointment was made possible after a rule change in October 2023, which previously did not allow for VC re-appointments. Singh, who also chairs the AICTE, previously served as VC for Delhi Technological University and MS University of Baroda. During his tenure, he introduced significant reforms like the CUET for admissions and the four-year undergraduate program under NEP 2020.

प्रोफेसर योगेश सिंह ने दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी के 77 साल के इतिहास में पहली बार लगातार दूसरे कार्यकाल के लिए वीसी के रूप में फिर से नियुक्त होकर इतिहास रच दिया है। यह पुनर्नियुक्ति अक्टूबर 2023 में नियम में बदलाव के बाद संभव हुई, जिससे पहले वीसी की पुनर्नियुक्ति की अनुमति नहीं थी। सिंह, जो AICTE के अध्यक्ष भी हैं, ने पहले दिल्ली टेक्नोलॉजिकल यूनिवर्सिटी और MS University of Baroda के वीसी के रूप में कार्य किया है। अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान, उन्होंने CUET और NEP 2020 के तहत चार-वर्षीय स्नातक कार्यक्रम जैसे महत्वपूर्ण सुधार पेश किए।
