An antiterrorism court in Pakistan has sentenced prominent human rights lawyers Imaan Mazari and her husband, Hadi Ali Chattha, to 10 years in prison on terrorism-related charges. The verdict was announced on Thursday following a trial inside Adiala prison in Rawalpindi. The couple were found guilty of putting the security of the touring England cricket team at risk by removing road barriers in Islamabad in October 2024. They deny the charges, calling themselves "prisoners of conscience" and claiming they are targeted for their human rights advocacy.
