The vital National Highway-10, which serves as Sikkim's primary connection to West Bengal, is set to undergo a significant upgrade. The Indian government has allocated Rs 993 crore for the project. This development comes after a crucial stretch of the highway was closed for over a month, reopening only in August this year. The upgrade aims to improve connectivity and ensure the reliable movement of goods and people to the land-locked northeastern state.

सिक्किम को पश्चिम बंगाल से जोड़ने वाला महत्वपूर्ण राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-10 (NH-10) का बड़े पैमाने पर अपग्रेड किया जाएगा। भारत सरकार ने इस प्रोजेक्ट के लिए ₹993 करोड़ आवंटित किए हैं। यह कदम ऐसे समय में आया है जब इस राजमार्ग का एक अहम हिस्सा एक महीने से अधिक समय तक बंद रहा था और इसी साल अगस्त में फिर से खुला है। इस अपग्रेड का मकसद कनेक्टिविटी को बेहतर बनाना और पूर्वोत्तर के इस लैंड-लॉक्ड राज्य में सामान और लोगों की आवाजाही को विश्वसनीय बनाना है।
