Delhi Govt Plans Sabarmati-Style Yamuna Riverfront Makeover

The Delhi government is preparing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (SRFDCL) to transform the Yamuna river. The ambitious project aims to create a 52-km riverfront along Delhi's stretch of the Yamuna, modelled after Gujarat's Sabarmati riverfront. Plans include developing parks, cycle tracks, and open spaces in two phases. This initiative seeks to overcome challenges faced during the Sabarmati project's execution and aims to provide Delhiites with new recreational spaces along the river.

दिल्ली सरकार यमुना नदी को बदलने के लिए साबरमती रिवरफ्रंट डेवलपमेंट कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड (SRFDCL) के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन (MoU) तैयार कर रही है। इस महत्वाकांक्षी परियोजना का लक्ष्य गुजरात के साबरमती नदी किनारे के मॉडल पर दिल्ली के यमुना खंड के साथ 52 किलोमीटर लंबा नदी किनारा विकसित करना है। योजनाओं में दो चरणों में पार्क, साइकिल ट्रैक और खुले स्थान विकसित करना शामिल है। इस पहल का उद्देश्य साबरमती परियोजना के निष्पादन के दौरान आने वाली चुनौतियों को दूर करना है और दिल्लीवासियों को नदी के किनारे नए मनोरंजक स्थान प्रदान करना है।
