Indian Stocks Crash Over 1,000 Points Amid Global
Times of India · stocks
Indian equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and Nifty50, experienced a significant crash on Monday, with Sensex falling over 1,000 points and Nifty50 dropping below 22,850. This sharp decline was driven by persistently high crude oil prices and rising US bond yields, exacerbated by escalating tensions between Iran and the US. The selloff erased nearly Rs 6 lakh crore from the market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies. Both large-cap and mid-cap indices saw substantial drops, reflecting broader weakness across Asian markets.
