Kolkata's fire department has issued an ultimatum to the authorities of a Camac Street building, warning of legal action if fire safety norms are not met. Officials found that mandatory safety measures for the 7th and 8th floors, where Abhishek Banerjee's office is located, remain unimplemented. Deficiencies include inadequate fire suppression equipment, non-functional detection systems, and compromised emergency exits. Building authorities claimed rectification work began on Friday, coinciding with the fire department's visit, despite prior requests for action.

कोलकाता के फायर डिपार्टमेंट ने कैमैक स्ट्रीट बिल्डिंग के अधिकारियों को चेतावनी दी है कि अगर फायर सेफ्टी नियमों का पालन नहीं किया गया तो कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। अधिकारियों ने पाया कि 7वीं और 8वीं मंजिल पर, जहाँ अभिषेक बनर्जी का ऑफिस है, ज़रूरी सुरक्षा उपाय अभी तक लागू नहीं किए गए हैं। कमियों में आग बुझाने वाले उपकरणों की कमी, काम न करने वाले डिटेक्शन सिस्टम और आपातकालीन निकास में बाधाएं शामिल हैं। बिल्डिंग अधिकारियों का दावा है कि शुक्रवार को सुधार का काम शुरू हुआ, जो फायर डिपार्टमेंट के दौरे के साथ ही हुआ, जबकि पहले भी कार्रवाई के लिए कहा गया था।
