Jammu and Kashmir has revived the 154-year-old 'Darbar Move' tradition, where the government shifts its operations between Srinagar and Jammu. This practice, initiated in 1872 by Dogra rulers, was halted in 2021 but has now been reinstated. Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather stated that the decision to resume the move in 2025 was made considering public wishes. The administration has already begun its work from Jammu, continuing this historical practice of serving people in both regions for six months each.
