A leopard cub was killed on National Highway 48 near Tamatakallu village in Chitradurga taluk after being struck by an unidentified vehicle late Monday night. The cub died instantly at the scene, and the driver reportedly fled without stopping. Forest department officials and police visited the location and have initiated a post-mortem examination.
