Mumbai Cricket Association Slams Sports Dept Over Ranveer Singh Film Shoot at Azad Maidan

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has strongly objected to the Maharashtra Sports Department allowing a six-hour film shoot for Ranveer Singh's upcoming movie 'Pralay' at Azad Maidan. The association claims this forced the postponement of interschool matches and accuses authorities of prioritizing commercial gain over grassroots sports development. Producer Hansal Mehta stated the production team had obtained all mandatory clearances for the shoot. The MCA expressed concern that allowing such commercial activities sets a harmful precedent for competitive cricket.

मुंबई क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन (MCA) ने महाराष्ट्र खेल विभाग द्वारा आज़ाद मैदान में रणवीर सिंह की आने वाली फिल्म 'प्रलय' के लिए छह घंटे की फिल्म शूटिंग की अनुमति देने पर कड़ा ऐतराज़ जताया है। एसोसिएशन का दावा है कि इससे स्कूली मैचों को स्थगित करना पड़ा और अधिकारियों पर जमीनी खेल विकास की बजाय व्यावसायिक लाभ को प्राथमिकता देने का आरोप लगाया है। निर्माता हंसल मेहता ने कहा कि प्रोडक्शन टीम ने शूटिंग के लिए सभी ज़रूरी अनुमतियाँ हासिल कर ली थीं। MCA ने चिंता जताई कि ऐसी व्यावसायिक गतिविधियों की अनुमति देना प्रतिस्पर्धी क्रिकेट के लिए एक हानिकारक मिसाल कायम करेगा।
