Govt Extends Agniveer Tenure By Two Years, Offers Pathway To Regular Army

The Union Cabinet has approved a significant change to the Agnipath scheme, extending the engagement period for Agniveers by two years. Previously, only 25% of recruits were retained in regular services after four years, with the remaining 75% transitioning back to society. Now, the remaining 75% will be offered an additional two-year engagement. Upon completion of this extended period, all willing Agniveers will have the opportunity for enrolment into the armed forces, subject to meeting objective selection criteria. This decision aims to provide a clearer career path for Agniveers.

सरकार ने अग्निवीर का कार्यकाल दो साल बढ़ाया, सेना में नियमित भर्ती का रास्ता खुला

केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने अग्निपथ योजना में एक बड़ा बदलाव मंजूर किया है। अब अग्निवीरों के सेवाकाल को दो साल के लिए बढ़ा दिया गया है। पहले चार साल बाद केवल 25% अग्निवीरों को ही नियमित सेवा में रखा जाता था, बाकी 75% समाज में लौट जाते थे। अब बाकी बचे 75% को दो साल का अतिरिक्त सेवाकाल मिलेगा। इस बढ़े हुए कार्यकाल के पूरा होने पर, सभी इच्छुक अग्निवीरों को, तय योग्यताएं पूरी करने पर, सेना में शामिल होने का मौका मिलेगा। इस फैसले का मकसद अग्निवीरों के लिए एक स्पष्ट करियर पथ बनाना है।
