Elderly Kolkata Couple Found Dead in Flat, Suicide Pact Suspected

An elderly couple in their 60s was discovered dead in their Panchasayar flat on Sunday morning. The husband, Asit Ash (66), was found hanging, while his wife, Mandira Ash (64), was found unconscious. Both were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Police suspect a suicide pact, with possibilities including the husband killing his wife before taking his own life, or the wife dying first and the husband following suit. Relatives mentioned the couple had previously lost their son and the wife had recently suffered a stroke.

रविवार सुबह कोलकाता के पंचसयार स्थित फ्लैट में 60 साल के एक बुजुर्ग दंपति को मृत पाया गया। पति, असित ऐश (66), को फंदे से लटका हुआ पाया गया, जबकि उनकी पत्नी, मंदिरा ऐश (64), बेहोश मिलीं। अस्पताल पहुंचने पर दोनों को मृत घोषित कर दिया गया। पुलिस आत्महत्या की आशंका जता रही है, जिसमें यह भी संभव है कि पति ने पत्नी की हत्या के बाद खुदकुशी की हो, या पत्नी की मौत के बाद पति ने अपनी जान ली हो। रिश्तेदारों ने बताया कि दंपति ने पहले अपने बेटे को खो दिया था और हाल ही में पत्नी को स्ट्रोक आया था।
