Red Sea shipping traffic has been disrupted off the coast of Yemen since last week due to attacks by the Tehran-aligned Houthis. The group aims to blockade Saudi exports, exacerbating the existing impact on oil supply through the Strait of Hormuz. This escalation expands the US-Iran conflict, potentially leading to further disruptions in global energy markets and impacting international trade routes.

यमन के तट पर पिछले हफ़्ते से लाल सागर में जहाजों का आना-जाना बाधित हो गया है। तेहरान समर्थित हूती विद्रोहियों के हमलों की वजह से ऐसा हुआ है। उनका मकसद सऊदी निर्यात को रोकना है, जिससे हॉरमुज़ जलडमरूमध्य से तेल आपूर्ति पर पहले से पड़ रहा असर और बढ़ जाएगा। अमेरिका और ईरान के बीच यह टकराव बढ़ने से वैश्विक ऊर्जा बाज़ारों में और ज़्यादा रुकावटें आ सकती हैं और अंतरराष्ट्रीय व्यापार पर भी असर पड़ सकता है।
