Delhi Police Designates New Protest Sites Replacing Jantar Mantar

BBC Hindi · politics

Delhi Police have designated three new locations for protests: Ramlila Maidan, Burari Maidan, and CBD Maidan in East Delhi, as Jantar Mantar is no longer permitted for demonstrations. This decision comes as the CJP has been protesting. Jantar Mantar, located near Parliament, served as a major protest hub for 33 years. The new sites, particularly Burari Maidan, are significantly farther from the city center and raise concerns among local residents about increased traffic congestion and disruption to daily life.
