The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has reiterated its strict ban on bursting firecrackers on public roads and streets during the upcoming Diwali celebrations. The court emphasized that public thoroughfares cannot be used for this purpose, even with green firecrackers. Police have been directed to ensure strict compliance and submit an action plan. The bench also questioned authorities on actions taken against sellers and buyers of firecrackers exceeding 55 decibels, seeking clarity on safety norms for licensed sellers. The matter will be heard again on November 4.

बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट की नागपुर बेंच ने आगामी दिवाली के जश्न के दौरान सार्वजनिक सड़कों और गलियों में पटाखे फोड़ने पर अपनी सख्त रोक दोहराई है। अदालत ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि सार्वजनिक रास्ते, ग्रीन पटाखों के साथ भी, इस उद्देश्य के लिए इस्तेमाल नहीं किए जा सकते। पुलिस को सख्त अनुपालन सुनिश्चित करने और एक कार्य योजना प्रस्तुत करने का निर्देश दिया गया है। बेंच ने 55 डेसिबल से अधिक के पटाखे बेचने और खरीदने वालों के खिलाफ की गई कार्रवाई पर अधिकारियों से सवाल भी पूछे, और लाइसेंस प्राप्त विक्रेताओं के लिए सुरक्षा मानदंडों पर स्पष्टता मांगी। मामले की अगली सुनवाई 4 नवंबर को होगी।
