Farmers in Chitradurga, Karnataka, collected Rs 2,998 in alms from the public to protest the state government's drought relief package of Rs 2,500 per farmer. Members of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene deposited the collected amount into the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. They stated the collection was intended to highlight the government's perceived insult to farmers facing recurring drought conditions. The organization submitted the receipt to the Molakalmuru tahsildar, urging a reconsideration of the relief package to avoid further farmer humiliation.
