An AI traffic camera in Bengaluru mistakenly issued a ₹500 fine to a man for carrying a guitar on his back, mistaking it for an unhelmeted pillion rider. The incident occurred on the Outer Ring Road when Souvik Dutta was riding pillion on his wife's scooter with his guitar strapped to his back. The AI system's error led to widespread ridicule of Bengaluru's AI-based traffic system. Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Karthik Reddy assured an investigation and cancellation of the erroneous challan.
