Kerala Assembly to Seek Chief Election Commissioner's Removal

Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan will move a resolution in the state assembly demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The resolution also urges the Centre to restore voting rights of eligible voters excluded from electoral rolls during a special revision process. It highlights concerns that marginalized communities, minorities, and migrant workers were disproportionately affected by alleged irregularities. The assembly will also call for restructuring the selection committee for Election Commissioners to ensure greater independence and impartiality.

केरल के मुख्यमंत्री वी डी सतीसन राज्य विधानसभा में मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञान प्रकाश को हटाने की मांग करने वाला एक प्रस्ताव पेश करेंगे। यह प्रस्ताव केंद्र से विशेष पुनरीक्षण प्रक्रिया के दौरान मतदाता सूची से बाहर रखे गए योग्य मतदाताओं के मतदान के अधिकार बहाल करने का भी आग्रह करता है। इसमें इस बात पर चिंता जताई गई है कि कथित अनियमितताओं से हाशिए पर रहने वाले समुदाय, अल्पसंख्यक और प्रवासी श्रमिक disproportionately प्रभावित हुए थे। विधानसभा चुनाव आयुक्तों के चयन समिति के पुनर्गठन का भी आह्वान करेगी ताकि अधिक स्वतंत्रता और निष्पक्षता सुनिश्चित की जा सके।
