Chandrababu Naidu Questions Jagan Reddy Over U-Turn on CEC Law

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has questioned YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's stance on the law governing Election Commission appointments. Naidu stated that Reddy now regrets supporting the 2023 legislation because the Election Commission no longer aligns with his directives. Reddy had previously backed the law, which appoints CEC and Election Commissioners via a committee of the Prime Minister, a Union Minister, and the Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition.

आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री एन चंद्रबाबू नायडू ने वाईएसआरसीपी अध्यक्ष वाईएस जगन मोहन रेड्डी के चुनाव आयोग की नियुक्तियों को नियंत्रित करने वाले कानून पर रुख पर सवाल उठाया है। नायडू ने कहा कि रेड्डी अब 2023 के कानून का समर्थन करने पर पछता रहे हैं क्योंकि चुनाव आयोग अब उनके निर्देशों का पालन नहीं करता है। रेड्डी ने पहले इस कानून का समर्थन किया था, जो प्रधानमंत्री, एक केंद्रीय मंत्री और लोकसभा में विपक्ष के नेता की समिति के माध्यम से सीईसी और चुनाव आयुक्तों की नियुक्ति करता है।
