Sebi Extends Digital Accessibility Compliance Deadline To January 31

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has extended the deadline for regulated entities to meet key digital accessibility compliance requirements until January 31 next year. This extension follows requests from market participants and allows more time for appointing auditors, conducting accessibility audits of digital platforms, and remediating any identified issues. These requirements are mandated by the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Sebi reviewed the progress made by entities before granting the extension, ensuring other provisions of previous circulars remain in effect.

भारतीय प्रतिभूति और विनिमय बोर्ड (सेबी) ने विनियमित संस्थाओं के लिए डिजिटल पहुंच अनुपालन की प्रमुख आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने की समय सीमा अगले साल 31 जनवरी तक बढ़ा दी है। यह विस्तार बाजार सहभागियों के अनुरोधों के बाद आया है और इससे ऑडिटर नियुक्त करने, डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म के एक्सेसिबिलिटी ऑडिट करने और पहचानी गई किसी भी समस्या को ठीक करने के लिए अधिक समय मिलेगा। ये आवश्यकताएं दिव्यांगजन अधिकार अधिनियम, 2016 द्वारा अनिवार्य हैं। सेबी ने विस्तार देने से पहले संस्थाओं द्वारा की गई प्रगति की समीक्षा की, यह सुनिश्चित करते हुए कि पिछले परिपत्रों के अन्य प्रावधान प्रभावी रहेंगे।
