Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has alleged a conspiracy by BJP workers to delete five to six million voters from electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision. He stated that applications were submitted to remove 4.5 million voters, targeting minorities, Dalits, and Scheduled Tribes. Shivakumar claimed bulk applications were filed between September 22 and 24, with some containing pre-printed voter details. कर्नाटक के मुख्यमंत्री डीके शिवकुमार ने स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीजन के दौरान बीजेपी कार्यकर्ताओं द्वारा पांच से छह मिलियन (50-60 लाख) मतदाताओं को चुनावी सूची से हटाने की साजिश का आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि 4.5 मिलियन (45 लाख) मतदाताओं को हटाने के लिए आवेदन जमा किए गए थे, जिनका निशाना अल्पसंख्यक, दलित और अनुसूचित जनजाति थे। शिवकुमार ने दावा किया कि 22 से 24 सितंबर के बीच थोक में आवेदन जमा किए गए थे, जिनमें से कुछ में पहले से छपे हुए मतदाता विवरण थे। उन्होंने एक आपराधिक जांच की मांग की है और पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं से संदिग्ध फॉर्म 7 आवेदनों पर जानकारी इकट्ठा करने का आग्रह किया है।
