पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्यमंत्री सुवेंदु अधिकारी ने राज्य के प्रवासी मजदूरों से लौटने की अपील की है। उन्होंने VB-G RAM G स्कीम का ज़िक्र किया, जो सालाना 125 दिन के काम की गारंटी देती है। हर जॉब कार्ड धारक को ₹34,500 की पक्की आमदनी मिलेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि स्कीम अच्छे से चल रही है। अब तक 65.62 लाख व्यक्ति-दिन का काम हो चुका है। दिसंबर तक रोज़गार को 10 लाख तक बढ़ाने का लक्ष्य है। सरकार जॉब कार्ड में गड़बड़ियों को भी ठीक कर रही है। पंचायत प्रशासन को मज़बूत करने के लिए लोगों की भर्ती की भी योजना है।
