सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने साफ किया है कि उसने पहली बार वोट देने वालों के लिए ईसीआई के संशोधित फॉर्म 6 को न तो मंजूरी दी है और न ही खारिज किया है। एक बेंच ने कहा कि बिहार की चुनावी सूची संशोधन पर सुनवाई के दौरान संशोधित फॉर्म पेश नहीं किया गया था, इसलिए 5 अक्टूबर की उसकी टिप्पणियों को मंजूरी या अस्वीकृति के रूप में नहीं समझा जा सकता। यह स्पष्टीकरण एक याचिकाकर्ता के वकील के इस दावे के बाद आया है कि ईसीआई ने दावा किया था कि संशोधित फॉर्म को सुप्रीम कोर्ट का समर्थन प्राप्त है।
