Surat city police, in collaboration with the district health department, have arrested 16 individuals accused of practicing medicine without recognized qualifications in Pandesara. These alleged quacks operated clinics for periods ranging from months to over three decades, with some having only completed Class 10 or 12. Decoy patients were used to verify allegations before simultaneous raids were conducted. Authorities seized medicines and equipment valued at Rs 1.82 lakh, and cases have been registered. The health department will also initiate separate proceedings under the Clinical Establishments Act.

सूरत शहर की पुलिस ने जिला स्वास्थ्य विभाग के साथ मिलकर पांडेसरा में बिना मान्यता प्राप्त योग्यता के चिकित्सा का अभ्यास करने के आरोपी 16 लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया है। ये कथित झोलाछाप महीनों से लेकर तीन दशक से अधिक समय तक क्लीनिक चलाते रहे, जिनमें से कुछ ने केवल 10वीं या 12वीं कक्षा पूरी की थी। आरोप की पुष्टि के लिए नकली मरीजों का इस्तेमाल किया गया, जिसके बाद एक साथ छापेमारी की गई। अधिकारियों ने 1.82 लाख रुपये के दवाएं और उपकरण जब्त किए, और मामले दर्ज किए गए हैं। स्वास्थ्य विभाग क्लिनिकल एस्टेब्लिशमेंट एक्ट के तहत अलग से भी कार्रवाई शुरू करेगा।
