Mutual Fund Inflows Insufficient To Lift Markets: Choice MF Deputy CEO
Business Standard · stocks
Mutual funds continue to attract significant inflows, with September seeing a record SIP book of ₹32,490 crore. However, these domestic inflows are not enough to lift the market significantly, merely offsetting selling by Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs). While mid and small-cap funds have outperformed, they now trade at substantial premiums. Manish Jain of Choice Mutual Fund suggests better value in the Nifty LargeMidcap 250 index, which offers lower valuations and volatility compared to mid-cap indices. He also noted the RBI's recent rate hike, marking the end of an easing cycle.
