Business Standard · business
The Reserve Bank of India has increased the annual interest rate on the Government of India Floating Rate Bond 2034 to 7.26 per cent, up from 6.45 per cent. This revised rate, effective from October 30, 2026, to April 29, 2027, will provide existing bondholders with higher interest income for the next six months. For every Rs 1 lakh invested, the approximate six-month interest payout will rise by Rs 405 before tax. The floating rate mechanism adjusts interest based on Treasury Bill yields, offering flexibility compared to fixed-rate securities.
