Ex-Mayor Sabyasachi Dutta Gets Interim Bail; Ex-Minister Sujit Bose Denied Bail

The Calcutta High Court granted interim bail to former Bidhannagar mayor Sabyasachi Dutta in an alleged extortion case, allowing him to likely walk out before Durga Puja. Dutta was arrested in June over allegations of demanding Rs 1 crore from a businessman. Meanwhile, the court rejected the bail plea of former fire services minister Sujit Bose. Bose was arrested by the ED in May for allegedly recommending names illegally for municipal recruitment jobs.

कलकत्ता हाई कोर्ट ने कथित उगाही मामले में पूर्व बिधाननगर मेयर सब्यसाची दत्ता को अंतरिम जमानत दे दी है, जिससे वह दुर्गा पूजा से पहले संभवतः बाहर आ जाएंगे। दत्ता को एक व्यवसायी से 1 करोड़ रुपये मांगने के आरोपों में जून में गिरफ्तार किया गया था। वहीं, कोर्ट ने पूर्व अग्निशमन मंत्री सुजीत बोस की जमानत याचिका खारिज कर दी। बोस को मई में ED ने नगर निगम भर्ती नौकरियों के लिए अवैध रूप से नाम सुझाने के आरोपों में गिरफ्तार किया था।
