MLC Polls Show Dominance of Brahmins in UP, Bhumihars in Bihar

MLC in four states, including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, have concluded, revealing a significant dominance of upper castes. While political discourse often focuses on backward and Dalit communities, the recent polls for graduate and teacher constituencies saw upper castes emerge victorious. In Bihar, the Bhumihar community secured five out of eight seats, demonstrating their strong influence. Meanwhile, in Uttar Pradesh, the Brahmin community held sway, with the highest number of representatives elected from this group.

उत्तर प्रदेश और बिहार समेत चार राज्यों में एमएलसी चुनाव खत्म हो गए हैं। इससे पता चला है कि अपर कास्ट का दबदबा काफी ज्यादा है। हालांकि, राजनीतिक चर्चाएं अक्सर पिछड़ी और दलित जातियों पर केंद्रित रहती हैं, लेकिन हाल के ग्रेजुएट और टीचर कोन्स्टिटूएंसी के चुनावों में अपर कास्ट के लोग जीते हैं। बिहार में भूमिहार समुदाय ने 8 में से 5 सीटें जीतीं, जिससे उनका मजबूत प्रभाव दिखा। वहीं, उत्तर प्रदेश में ब्राह्मण समुदाय का दबदबा रहा, इस समूह से सबसे ज्यादा प्रतिनिधि चुने गए।
