P.P. Umar Musliyar Koyyode has been appointed the new general secretary of the Sunni scholars’ forum Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama. He previously served as the organization's treasurer. The selection occurred at an executive committee meeting in Kozhikode, filling the vacancy left by K. Alikutty Musliyar's demise in July. M.T. Abdulla Musliyar, who temporarily held the charge, will now serve as the new treasurer.
