SC Stays Probe Against Ex-Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan in CMRL Bribery Case for a Week

The Supreme Court has stayed the investigation into former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and others concerning the alleged CMRL bribery case for one week. The court also permitted them to appeal a Kerala High Court order that directed the registration of an FIR. The High Court had previously ordered the FIR based on a petition, following a report from the Enforcement Directorate. The ED alleged that Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited made fraudulent payments of Rs 2.78 crore to Vijayan's daughter's company for IT consultancy.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने पूर्व केरल मुख्यमंत्री पिनराई विजयन और अन्य के खिलाफ कथित CMRL रिश्वत मामले की जांच पर एक हफ्ते के लिए रोक लगा दी है। कोर्ट ने उन्हें केरल हाई कोर्ट के उस आदेश के खिलाफ अपील करने की भी अनुमति दी है जिसमें FIR दर्ज करने का निर्देश दिया गया था। हाई कोर्ट ने पहले प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ED) की रिपोर्ट के बाद एक याचिका पर FIR का आदेश दिया था। ED ने आरोप लगाया था कि Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited ने विजयन की बेटी की कंपनी को IT कंसल्टेंसी के लिए 2.78 करोड़ रुपये का फर्जी भुगतान किया था।
