A unique donkey fair is held in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh, the day after Diwali. This traditional fair, dating back to around 1670 AD during Aurangzeb's reign, sees traders bringing donkeys from far and wide for sale and purchase. The fair, which lasts for two to three days on the banks of the Mandakini river, is known for its high-value transactions. Donkeys are often bid upon using the names of film stars, with prices reaching lakhs of rupees.

उत्तर प्रदेश के चित्रकूट में दिवाली के अगले दिन एक अनोखा गधों का मेला लगता है। यह पारंपरिक मेला, जो करीब 1670 ईस्वी में औरंगजेब के शासनकाल से चला आ रहा है, इसमें व्यापारी दूर-दूर से गधों को खरीदने और बेचने के लिए लाते हैं। मंदाकिनी नदी के किनारे दो से तीन दिनों तक चलने वाला यह मेला ऊंचे दामों के लिए जाना जाता है। गधों पर अक्सर फिल्म स्टार्स के नामों का इस्तेमाल करके बोली लगाई जाती है, जिनकी कीमत लाखों रुपये तक पहुंच जाती है।
