India's First Private Micro-Missile JWALA Set For Trials

Business Standard · technology

Defence firm IG Defence is preparing for the first experimental trials of India's first private sector micro-missile, JWALA. The company successfully test-fired two solid rocket motors, a key milestone for the short-range surface-to-air missile. JWALA is designed as a scalable, affordable, and robust counter-drone capability with a strike range of 2 to 5 kilometers. The system aims for a reaction time of under seven seconds from target detection to launch, enhancing rapid response to aerial threats. It will be integrated into IG Defence's AI-enabled GRID Defend ecosystem.
