NGT Issues Notice to Punjab Over Plastic Ban Non-Compliance in Jalandhar

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued a notice to the Punjab government and other authorities concerning the alleged non-compliance with directions to enforce a ban on single-use plastic (SUP) items in Jalandhar. An application filed by the Action Group Against Plastic Pollution highlighted the failure to implement the ban effectively. The NGT had previously ordered the formation of a joint committee to identify plastic manufacturers and take action, along with establishing a complaint portal.
