Rajasthan Information Commission Fines DIET Principal Rs 5,000 for RTI Violations

RSIC has fined the principal-cum-Public Information Officer of DIET, Jaisalmer, Rs 5,000 for violating the RTI Act. The principal failed to provide requested information and was repeatedly absent from scheduled hearings. A resident filed an RTI application in May 2025, and despite an RSIC order in October 2025 to provide the data, it was not supplied. The principal cited the large volume of information, over 5,000 pages, as a reason for delay.

RSIC ने DIET, जैसलमेर के प्रिंसिपल-सह-लोक सूचना अधिकारी पर RTI एक्ट के उल्लंघन के लिए ₹5,000 का जुर्माना लगाया है। प्रिंसिपल ने मांगी गई जानकारी नहीं दी और निर्धारित सुनवाई में बार-बार अनुपस्थित रहे। एक निवासी ने मई 2025 में RTI आवेदन दायर किया था, और अक्टूबर 2025 में डेटा प्रदान करने के RSIC के आदेश के बावजूद, इसे आपूर्ति नहीं की गई। प्रिंसिपल ने देरी के कारण के रूप में 5,000 से अधिक पृष्ठों की बड़ी मात्रा में जानकारी का हवाला दिया।
