A New Hampshire woman discovered a painting she bought for $4 at a thrift store in 2017 was an authentic N.C. Wyeth work. After an auction sale for $191,000 fell through due to a vanished buyer, the painting was sold privately. The collector's purchase secured over $100,000 for the owner, who had hoped to use the funds for a family trip to Germany. The artwork was initially found among discarded items.
