Punjab Cabinet Approves Ranjit Sagar Dam Development Authority Bill

The Punjab Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has approved the RDA Bill, 2026. This bill aims to establish the RDA for the planned and sustainable development of areas around the Ranjit Sagar and Shahpur Kandi dams. The RDA will function as a statutory body under the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, granting it administrative, financial, and regulatory powers for integrated development and tourism management. The Chief Minister will chair the authority, with the Tourism Minister as vice-chairman.

पंजाब कैबिनेट ने रंजीत सागर बांध विकास प्राधिकरण विधेयक को मंजूरी दी पर्यटन और एकीकृत विकास को बढ़ावा देने का लक्ष्य

मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान के नेतृत्व में पंजाब कैबिनेट ने आरडीए विधेयक, 2026 को मंजूरी दे दी है। इस विधेयक का उद्देश्य रंजीत सागर और शाहपुर कंडी बांधों के आसपास के क्षेत्रों के सुनियोजित और टिकाऊ विकास के लिए आरडीए की स्थापना करना है। आरडीए पर्यटन और सांस्कृतिक मामलों के विभाग के तहत एक वैधानिक निकाय के रूप में कार्य करेगा, जिसे एकीकृत विकास और पर्यटन प्रबंधन के लिए प्रशासनिक, वित्तीय और नियामक शक्तियां प्रदान की जाएंगी। मुख्यमंत्री प्राधिकरण की अध्यक्षता करेंगे, जबकि पर्यटन मंत्री उपाध्यक्ष होंगे।
