चंडीगढ़ कांग्रेस ने सुखना झील पर 'काला दिवस' मनाकर चुनाव आयोग और नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्व वाली केंद्र सरकार के खिलाफ विरोध जताया। पार्टी नेताओं और पार्षदों ने काले कपड़े पहने और 'ज्ञानेश कुमार को बर्खास्त करो' और 'लोकतंत्र की हत्या बंद करो' जैसे संदेशों वाले पोस्टर लिए। AICC चंडीगढ़ प्रभारी रजनी पाटिल ने आरोप लगाया कि सरकार विपक्षी आवाजों को दबाने की कोशिश कर रही है और हाल के विरोध प्रदर्शनों के दौरान पुलिस की कार्रवाई की आलोचना की। पार्टी नेताओं ने कहा कि शांतिपूर्ण विरोध एक संवैधानिक अधिकार है और विपक्षी चिंताओं पर प्रतिक्रिया मांगी।
