The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) plans to escalate its protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, demanding his resignation. Around 200 people were detained during demonstrations held across New Delhi, which faced heavy security. The Supreme Court directed authorities not to illegally detain peaceful protesters and ensure normal metro and internet services. CJP leaders, including Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, were released on the condition of maintaining peace for a year. They allege phones were confiscated without memos, raising fears of hacking or cloning to fabricate evidence against them.
