Similipal Tiger Tracking Hampered By Rain, GPS Failure

Continuous rain and malfunctioning GPS units are hindering efforts to track tigers in Similipal Tiger Reserve. Tigress Yamuna's radio collar GPS has stopped working, forcing reliance on VHF signals. Meanwhile, camera traps are needed to monitor tigress Zeenat and her four cubs, whose last sighting was in early June. Officials hope for improved weather to resume effective monitoring and assess the health of the newest tiger family.

सिमिलिपाल बाघों की ट्रैकिंग में बारिश और जीपीएस की विफलता से बाधा

सिमिलिपाल टाइगर रिजर्व में लगातार बारिश और खराब जीपीएस सिस्टम की वजह से बाघों की ट्रैकिंग में दिक्कत आ रही है। बाघिन यमुना के रेडियो कॉलर का जीपीएस काम नहीं कर रहा है, इसलिए अब वीएचएफ सिग्नल पर निर्भर रहना पड़ रहा है। वहीं, जून की शुरुआत में देखी गई बाघिन जीनत और उसके चार शावकों पर नज़र रखने के लिए कैमरा ट्रैप की ज़रूरत है। अधिकारी उम्मीद कर रहे हैं कि मौसम सुधरेगा ताकि प्रभावी निगरानी फिर से शुरू हो सके।
