BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai Urges State to Announce SAP for Sugarcane Growers

BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai has urged the Congress government in Karnataka to announce a State Advised Price (SAP) to provide relief to sugarcane growers. He stated that an expert committee formed to recommend sugarcane price revisions is expected to submit its report soon. Bommai emphasized that the State government earns substantial GST revenue from sugar and its byproducts, and should therefore use the SAP law to support farmers. He also highlighted the need for the State government to intervene in issues concerning sugarcane weighing and recovery rates.

भाजपा सांसद बसवरज बोम्मई ने कर्नाटक की कांग्रेस सरकार से गन्ना किसानों को राहत देने के लिए राज्य सलाह मूल्य (State Advised Price - SAP) की घोषणा करने का आग्रह किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि गन्ने की कीमत में संशोधन की सिफारिश करने के लिए गठित एक विशेषज्ञ समिति जल्द ही अपनी रिपोर्ट सौंपने की उम्मीद है। बोम्मई ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि राज्य सरकार चीनी और उसके उप-उत्पादों से काफी जीएसटी राजस्व अर्जित करती है, और इसलिए किसानों का समर्थन करने के लिए एसएपी कानून का उपयोग करना चाहिए। उन्होंने गन्ने के वजन और रिकवरी दरों से संबंधित मुद्दों में राज्य सरकार के हस्तक्षेप की आवश्यकता पर भी प्रकाश डाला।
