Veteran drummer and musician Deva, known for his work on over 800 films, passed away at his Bengaluru residence on Saturday night. He was 64 and had been battling a prolonged illness for over three years, which included a stroke and the amputation of his right leg. Deva provided percussion and background scores for numerous films, collaborating with renowned composers and featuring actors like Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar. His musical contributions spanned several decades, making him a familiar presence in the Kannada film industry and beyond.

जाने-माने ड्रमर और संगीतकार देवा, जिन्होंने 800 से ज़्यादा फ़िल्मों में काम किया था, शनिवार रात बेंगलुरु में अपने घर पर गुज़र गए। वह 64 साल के थे और तीन साल से ज़्यादा समय से एक लंबी बीमारी से जूझ रहे थे, जिसमें उन्हें स्ट्रोक आया था और उनके दाहिने पैर को काटना पड़ा था। देवा ने कई फ़िल्मों के लिए परकशन और बैकग्राउंड स्कोर दिए थे। उन्होंने मशहूर संगीतकारों के साथ काम किया और राजकुमार और पुनीत राजकुमार जैसे अभिनेताओं के साथ भी जुड़े रहे। उनका संगीत का योगदान कई दशकों तक फैला रहा, जिससे वह कन्नड़ फ़िल्म इंडस्ट्री और उससे बाहर भी एक जाना-पहचाना नाम बन गए थे।
