The Indian Army is significantly upgrading its counter-Improvised Explosive Device (IED) capabilities by planning to procure 350 portable stand-off explosive detectors and 13 specialised bomb containment vehicles. These advanced detectors will identify explosive residues without physical contact, enhancing safety at checkpoints and critical installations. The containment vehicles are designed to safely transport and neutralise explosive devices, capable of withstanding blasts equivalent to 8 kg of TNT. This initiative reflects a broader strategy to enhance troop protection through improved detection, safe disposal, and operational readiness, aligning with the 'Atmanirbharta' initiative.

भारतीय सेना इम्प्रोवाइज्ड एक्सप्लोसिव डिवाइस (आईईडी) से निपटने की अपनी क्षमताओं को काफी बढ़ा रही है। इसके लिए 350 पोर्टेबल स्टैंड-ऑफ एक्सप्लोसिव डिटेक्टर और 13 विशेष बम कंटेनमेंट वाहन खरीदने की योजना है। ये उन्नत डिटेक्टर बिना छुए विस्फोटक के अवशेषों का पता लगा लेंगे, जिससे चौकियों और महत्वपूर्ण ठिकानों पर सुरक्षा बढ़ेगी। कंटेनमेंट वाहन विस्फोटक उपकरणों को सुरक्षित रूप से ले जाने और निष्क्रिय करने के लिए बनाए गए हैं, जो 8 किलोग्राम टीएनटी के बराबर विस्फोट झेल सकते हैं। यह पहल बेहतर पहचान, सुरक्षित निपटान और परिचालन तत्परता के माध्यम से सैनिकों की सुरक्षा बढ़ाने की एक व्यापक रणनीति को दर्शाती है, जो 'आत्मनिर्भरता' पहल के अनुरूप है।
