OBC Census Column Demanded For 2027

Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has called for a nationwide caste census in the 2027 Census, demanding a separate OBC column. This aims to accurately determine the Backward Classes population and ensure fair representation proportional to their numbers. Speaking at an OBC conference, he stressed the need for scientific enumeration and a united struggle for BC rights. Prabhakar also stated that while not opposing EWS reservations, the 50% ceiling should not hinder BC.

तेलंगाना के मंत्री पोन्नम प्रभाकर ने 2027 की जनगणना में देशव्यापी जातिगत जनगणना की मांग की है। उन्होंने OBC के लिए एक अलग कॉलम बनाने को कहा है। उनका कहना है कि इससे पिछड़ी जातियों की सही संख्या पता चलेगी और उन्हें उनकी आबादी के हिसाब से उचित प्रतिनिधित्व मिलेगा। एक OBC सम्मेलन में उन्होंने कहा कि वैज्ञानिक तरीके से गिनती होनी चाहिए और BC अधिकारों के लिए एकजुट होकर संघर्ष करना होगा।
