His third-place finish in 2007's World Cyber Games India qualifiers earned him a sponsorship, a rare opportunity then. Basu represented India internationally and later transitioned to organizing events, founding the Asian Football Gaming Championship and LetsGameNow. His latest venture, the Indian Super Gaming League (ISGL), launched in 2026, features franchise-based teams and investment from Anand Mahindra's family office, aiming to provide young players with consistent career development.
