Florida's Attorney General is investigating the Ferretti Group, a luxury yacht operator with Chinese ownership, for operating too close to a US Coast Guard station in Fort Lauderdale. The company, acquired by Shandong Heavy Industry Group in 2012, has operated its service headquarters in Lauderdale Marine Center since 2020. Concerns were amplified after a report alleged potential national security risks due to data collection from Ferretti vessels. The investigation will determine if the company's property ownership violates state laws restricting Chinese entities.
