Assam Ex-PCCF Extension Challenged In Court

The Gauhati High Court has issued a notice to the Assam government regarding a petition that challenges the third extension granted to a former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF). The former PCCF, M.K. Yadava, was appointed Special Chief Secretary (Forests) after his retirement in February 2024. The petition argues that the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change had previously noted lapses in his performance. The court is seeking a response by October 15.
