कर्नाटक की मतदाता सूची में बड़े पैमाने पर मतदाताओं को हटाने के लिए फॉर्म-7 के आवेदनों में हुई वृद्धि के बाद सवाल उठ रहे हैं। सितंबर और अक्टूबर के बीच, चुनाव अधिकारियों ने खुद ही 61,059 फॉर्म-7 आवेदन भरे, जिसमें मतदाताओं को हटाने का कोई कारण नहीं बताया गया। यह मतदाता पंजीकरण नियमों का उल्लंघन है, जिसके तहत नाम हटाने का कारण बताना ज़रूरी है। अधिकारियों का कहना है कि ये आवेदन दोहरी एंट्री या मृत्यु जैसे मामलों के लिए थे, लेकिन ऑटो-जेनरेटेड फॉर्म में कारण खाली रह गए। बेंगलुरु शहरी में सबसे ज़्यादा आवेदन आए, 24,000 से अधिक।
