UPI MDR Reintroduction May Not Hit Consumers

The reintroduction of MDR on select UPI transactions is unlikely to significantly impact consumers. Large retailers and restaurants are expected to absorb the costs due to market competition, though their profit margins may be affected. Small merchants, however, might pass on some of the burden. The government has exempted small merchants receiving up to Rs 1 lakh monthly via UPI QR codes from MDR.

पर MDR की वापसी से ग्राहकों पर ज़्यादा असर नहीं पड़ेगा। बड़े व्यापारी और रेस्टोरेंट बाज़ार की वजह से ये खर्च खुद उठाएंगे, भले ही उनका मुनाफा थोड़ा कम हो जाए। छोटे दुकानदार शायद कुछ बोझ ग्राहकों पर डाल दें। सरकार ने छोटे दुकानदारों को राहत दी है, जो UPI QR कोड से हर महीने 1 लाख रुपये तक पाते हैं, उनसे MDR नहीं लिया जाएगा।
